It's crazy how something this big and comfy can still turn as well as it does. I salute you E38 7-series! Especially you Sport-short models!

I saw these pics on bimmerforums not long ago, he took the V12 badges off and it looks way better.

I used to be. Now I'm frequently on E90post as "uber smooth".

I'm gonna be back on bimmerforums and bimmerfest soon though because the cars in the for sale section are just WONDERFUL.

Saw this one parked by my house not too long ago. It's pretty close to perfect, though to be honest, it's probably a 740i

oh man, it really sucks how the forums are shrinking. Imagine what bimmerforums was like in it's prime. That must've been a great time to be an enthusiast haha..

Luckily most DIY's have already been posted so you should just be a search away from fixing any problems that arise.

from the looks of it (extended rear door) I think it's an iL. I'd probably take a 740i as my perfect E38 because I know my way around the V8 engine. The V12 is my dream but I've never worked on one before.

good catch on the long wheelbase!

The older I get the more I think the e36 and the e38 are two of the most "correct" looking cars ever made. They're not immediate head turners, but they just NAILED the design of both cars.

The e23 used to be pretty active all over up until around 2012 then it just bombed out. I've seen a few european forums for the e23, I wish their was a good english based one.

All 3 just look amazing. They don't scream "I'm an aggressive sports sedan grrrrrr" but you can definitely tell that they can move like a BMW should.

Luckily E90post is still going strong. With F30's causing the price of E90's to drop, more and more people are buying them cheap. It's great because of all the activity, but at the same time there's a lot of bickering between the "vets" and the newcomers. Especially when the newcomers do stuff like this

that always happens with any car when the first owners sell and the second and third owners start rolling in.

Yeah, all three are definitely amazing looking, but i do put the E39 maybe just a half a step below the other two in the looks department (though i'm splitting hairs here, its a gorgeous car in its own right) The grill area of the E39 just looks a tiny bit too "soft" compared to the E36 and E38.

yeah there's a lot more "how can I make my 325i faster" threads and stuff like that.

I'm just glad I can still find some great deals through vendors and use the MANY DIY's that've been written up.

I will say that non M5 E39's do look softer. Id definitely throw on an M5 front bumper if I had a non M E39.
